WHAT DOES ACADEMY FOOTBALL MEAN?
 

Academy football is for players from U9 through to U19.

The goal of the academy is to provide high-level training and competitive opportunities for ambitious footballers who want to reach higher levels of the game.

 

Training is demanding, and we expect players to take responsibility for both their effort and behaviour. Our training blends organisation and controlled chaos, both of which are essential in developing the skill sets required to become effective footballers.

Competitive opportunities are offered in three ways:

• Friendly matches – open to all academy players.

• League football (Diamond Youth Football League – Instagram link) – for U11, U13 and U15

• League football through the FKF County League – for U19, providing a pathway into senior-level competition.

• Places for league football are earned on merit. Players must secure their place on the season roster, then on the matchday squad, and finally in the starting line-up.

Through this program, players will grow tremendously both as footballers and people. However, this journey will also bring moments of discomfort - experiences outside of their comfort zone. It is important to allow them to face these challenges—because it is here that they develop resilience and unlock their inner power.
